Oklahoma inmate executed for triple murder, including two children

lethal-injection320-crimeticker

Michael Hooper was executed this evening in Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester by lethal injection and is the fourth inmate executed in Oklahoma this year.

Hooper was found guilty  and sentenced to death for the 1993 murders of Cynthia Lynn Jarman, 23-years-old and her two children Tonya, 5-years-old and Timmy, 3-years-old. Hooper was in his pickup truck with Jarman and her children when he placed the gun under her chin and pulled the trigger, still alive he then placed the gun at her temple and ended her life. He then shot each of the children twice in the head to prevent them from being witnesses to their mother’s death and then buried their bodies in a shallow grave near Oklahoma City.

Earlier this afternoon the U.S. Supreme Court refused to halt the execution. Hooper’s attorney’s fought the execution on grounds that the three-drug protocol used by Oklahoma was cruel and unusual punishment. Many states are switching over to the single drug protocol using Pentobarbital. In Oklahoma a smaller dose of Pentobarbital is the first drug used in the execution and is done to render the inmate unconscious before the vecuronium bromide is injected, which stops the breathing and then the heart stopping drug potassium chloride is the final drug.

Hooper’s last words were, “I just want to thank God for such an exuberant send-off, also, my family for standing by me throughout all this. I appreciate them being there for me through the hardships. I ask that my spirit be released directly into the hands of Jesus. I’m ready to go, I love you all.”

The drugs began to flow at 7:08pm and Hooper was pronounced dead at 7:14pm EST.

Oklahoma’s inmate’s request for stay of execution denied

michael selsor: crimeticker.com

Selsor is scheduled to die on Tuesday, May 1st.

Michael Selsor is the next U.S. death row inmate to face execution.

The Oklahoma inmate’s most recent appeal was rejected by the U.S. Supreme court today. Two weeks ago the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board voted 4-1 against commuting Selsor’s execution to a life sentence.

Michael Selsor killed 55-year-old Clayton Chandler 37 years ago in a Tulsa, Oklahoma convenience store robbery. Selsor was 20 years old at the time of his crime.

Barring an intervention by Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin, Selsor will die on Tuesday, May 1st. But he might have luck on his side, Fallin granted a stay of execution to Garry Allen 2 weeks ago.

Family or friends of Clayton Chandler who have information or pictures to share can contact us at info@crimeticker.com – we will gladly post any stories, comments or pictures of Clayton that you would like to share.

Allen received a 30 day stay of execution late yesterday.

Late yesterday afternoon a federal judge granted Garry Allen a 30 day stay of execution.

Allen’s attorneys claim that Allen was schizophrenic at the time of the crime and his mental condition has only deteriorated since being imprisoned for the murder of Lawanna Gail Titsworth.

The Oklahoma attorney general has appealed the stay.

Garry Allen execution to proceed as clemency denied

Allen has the eye patch after being shot in the face by police during a struggle at his arrest.

Unless there is a successful last minute appeal, Garry Allen has only a few days left to live. For Allen and his attorneys, there was another set-back as Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin denied clemency for the inmate who is to be put to death for the murder of his ex-wife and mother of his two children. in 1986.

Even though the Pardon and Parole Board has recommended a commutation of Allen’s sentence to life in prison without the possibility of parole way back in 2005, Fallin decided to go against their recommendation. Allen’s attorney’s argue that he was mentally ill at the time of the murder and his mental state has worsened since then.

Timothy Shaun Stemple was executed tonight by lethal injection for killing his wife to collect insurance proceeds of almost $1 million.

After Stemple was strapped to the gurney, Stemple was asked if he had any last words, he simply shook his head no. Shortly after that the execution began, Stemple gasped for 15-20 seconds, his eyes opened as he made a groaning sound. His body went still. Timothy Shaun Stemple was pronounced dead at 6:11pm CST.

Even with a conviction, appeals denied and a clemency board denial last month, Stemple maintained his innocence. Lia Stemple, his mother, told the Associated Press after the execution that Oklahomas murdered an innocent man.
But Terry Hunt, Stemple’s accomplice who is in prison serving a life sentence, said that he was disappointed that Stemple didn’t confess before his death. ”I’m not innocent and Shaun is not innocent,” said Hunt from prison.
