33-year-old Jun Lin’s severed head was found Sunday in Agringnon Park in Montreal. His feet and hands were sent to separate locations in Ottawa and Vancouver in May of this year.

The main suspect in the case is Luka Rocco Magnotta, AKA the “Canadian Psycho”, who fled Canada shortly after the murder only to be arrested in Berlin shortly after INTERPOL issued an international warrant for his arrest.

Magnotta in Canadian court, pleads Not Guilty to murder, dismemberment charges

The long journey through the Canadian criminal justice system started today as Luka Rocco Magnotta pleaded not guilty to four charges filed against him by authorities.

Magnotta was charged with first-degree murder, defiling a corpse, harassing members of Parliament and mailing obscene material. He appeared in court virtually as his image was displayed by video conference in court.

Magnotta is due back in court Thursday where his lawyer is expected to ask for a psychiatric evaluation.

The most serious charge against Magnotta is the first-degree murder of 33-year-old Chinese student, Lin Jun. Prosecutors in the case have pledged to keep Jun’s family up to date with the criminal proceedings in the case.

Luka Rocco Magnotta back in Canada today

Magnotta is back on Canadian soil.

The suspect in the murder and dismemberment of Chinese student Lin Jun is on his way back to Canada.

Luka Rocco Magnotta was arrested on June 4th in Berlin, Germany after INTERPOL broadcast information about him around the world.

If Magnotta isn’t already in Canada, he will be here soon. His flight left at 1:30pm in a Military aircraft and will be landing somewhere in Quebec.

Magnotta killed Jun at the end of May, cannabalized his remains and then send some of his body parts from political headquarters in Ontario, and others to Vancouver, BC.

Magnotta videotaped the murder and it has been showing up on gore websites including www.bestgore.com.

Canada does not have the death penalty.

Is Luka Rocco Magnotta a serial killer?

Has he killed more than one person?

Since his arrest Monday in Berlin, police around Canada and the United States have been looking at cold cases and unsolved murders and wondering if Luka Magnotta could be the one responsible.

One such case is the unsolved murder and dismemberment of a 66-year-old California man who’s head, hands and feet were found in a brush area in close proximity to the Hollywood sign in Los Angeles. Harvey Medellin’s head was found by a woman walking her dog in January. Police later found his hands and feet but have yet to find the rest of his body. Magnotta is believed to be in the area at the time of the man’s murder.

Victim’s name released in mail dismemberment case

Lin Jun, a visiting student from China was murdered and dismembered, allegedly by Luke Magnotta

Police announced today that the victim in the grisly murder and dismemberment case is Chinese student Lin Jun. Jun was an engineering and computer undergrad student at Concordia University and was reported missing on May 29th.

There is currently an international manhunt on for 29-year-old Luka Rocco Magnotta who is the main suspect in the murder and will likely be charged with first-degree murder and interefering with the diginty of a dead body. Magnotta allegedly murdered Jun, dismembered his body and send his hand and foot in the mail, the foot was sent to the Canadian Conservative party headquarters and a hand was still in transit when it was recovered by police, it was on its way to the Liberal party. Magnotta also videotaped the murder and posted on the web – it can be found on a few different gore websites.
