Arizona executes sixth inmate of 2012
Richard Dale Stokley, 60-years-old was executed this morning at the state prison complex in Florence, Arizona.
Stokley was convicted of murdering Mandy Meyers and Mary Snyder, both 13-years-old in 1991. Stokley’s accomplice, Randy Brazeal, negotiated a plea and was released from prison after 20 years.
Arizona is only behind Texas and Oklahoma in number of executions performed in 2012.
Stokley’s last words were, “I do wish I could die doing something meaningful. You know, this seems such a waste.”
Richard Stokley was pronounced dead at 12:12 pm EST.
