Drew Peterson finally gets his day in court after being arrested more than three years ago.

Drew Peterson was arrested more than three years ago for the murder of Kathleen Savio, his third wife, and now he finally will get his day in court.

This afternoon Illinois Judge Edward Burmila set July 23rd, 2012 as the starting day for jury selection and the actual trial is set to start one week later on July 30th.

When Judge Burmila asked Peterson if he was ok with the date Peterson replied, “Yes, your honor, I’ve been in solitary confinement for three years, your honor.”

Peterson’s original trial date was set for July, 2010 but for two years prosecutors were appealing a ruling about hearsay statements to the higher courts.
